Jr. Team Tennis Presented by DICK's Sporting Goods
How does it work?
USTA Jr. Team Tennis is designed for kids ages 5-18. They are immediately placed on teams practicing together and playing matches together. This is a national program and USTA Jr membership is required ($20/yr.) Matches can be held anywhere from a local park or school to a commercial or private club. 8U teams need a minimum of 6 players. All other age divisions need a minimum of 4 boys and 4 girls per team. They are divided by the following age and play levels:
All 10u play is now on the 60ft courts.
Play Levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Age Groups: 8U (36ft court play), 10U (60ft court play), 12U, 14U and 18U.
USTA Jr. Team Tennis brings kids together in teams to play singles, doubles and mixed doubles against other teams. It promotes social skills and important values, it creates a spirit of cooperation and unity, as well as individual self-growth. Also, it’s a fun environment for kids in which they learn that succeeding is really more about how they play the game – win or lose.
